Shiga Translation is located in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, not far from Tokyo and Yokohama.
The service is owned and operated by Dave Reese, a native U.S. English speaker who has lived and worked in Japan for more than 24 years.
Dave received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Interpreting and Translating from the Community College of the Air Force, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Management (with a minor in Japanese Studies) from the University of Maryland. He has achieved a score of 3 ("Proficient" - highest possible score) on the U.S. Defense Language Proficiency Test in Japanese.
He has worked as a Japanese-to-English translator for the U.S. government in various capacities, including translator, editor, and project manager, since 1991.
Dave is a member of the Japan Association of Translators (JAT) and the American Translators Association (ATA).
